Searching for and downloading a product image (two ways to search):

  1. "Search by ISBN" The first 9 digits are already provided. Enter the next 3 digits (last digit not required for search) and click the "Search" button. The results page provides multiple images of the product (such as high-resolution, low-resolution, or a 3-D image or sample page).
    1. High-resolution images are labeled "For Print: High-Res (print)..." and low-resolution images are labeled "For Web: Low-Res (web)..." The front-facing high-resolution image is always displayed first. Following are front-facing low-resolution images (a small 150 pixel version and a big 600 pixel version), and any remaining images in the results list.
    2. Each listing on the results page is made up of 5 parts. Title name, ISBN/ImageID, Download link, Text Document (a Microsoft Word document that lists information on all Merriam-Webster products), and contact help link.
    3. To download an image, find the version of the image desired in the results list and click the link that starts with the phrase "High-Res (print)..." or "Low-Res (web)..." The image will be downloaded to the user's computer (a message may appear asking to open or save the file).
  2. "Search by Title" Use if the ISBN number is not known. The entire title is not required (for example "visual" may be entered for "Merriam-Webster's Visual Dictionary"). However, it is recommended to use "Search by ISBN," because of different formats to titles—searching for "dictionary and thesaurus" results in multiple images of Merriam-Webster dictionaries and thesauruses and floor and counter displays containing dictionaries and thesauruses, which can be confusing and difficult to scroll through. When in doubt, please contact your sales representative for the correct ISBN number.
